Is Severe Leg Pain A Symptom Of Blood Clot?

I am 53 yr old male with a previous blood clot in left thigh. Blood thinners (coumadin) for six months that I stopped taking about 4 months ago after an ultrasound deemed clot no longer a danger (slight evidence small partial clot still present) I was virtually bed ridden for 3 weeks after a surgery one month ago. (not related to clot) Took 2 five hour flight in the last 2 weeks. Yesterday started experiencing aching and discomfort in my left leg yesterday. My instinct is clot has returned. Do you feel this is something I should address immediately via emergency room or try to get into General Practitioner asap?
