Is Severe Pain And Bruising In Low Back Below The Surgery Site Normal Post 6 Days Of OpL4-5 Laminectomy?

I m post opL4-5 laminectomy 6 days. Is it normal to have severe pain and bruising in my low back below the surgery site at this point in time? I can hardly move and didn't have so much pain until I was post op 2-3 days. Any suggestions to help with the serious bruising and how long can I expect to have sooooo much discomfort? Thanks much, Andie

Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

there is definitely a probability that the pain is secondary to the post op condition. however i am not so sure that the bruising should be there, unless of course your dr said there was possible bleeding during surgery

i would suggest you meet your doctor as soon as possible especially since you are saying that you are having difficulty in moving and that the pain is becoming worse

a direct observation is also necessary to rule out the possibility of a post operative infection

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.
