Is Severe Pain In Joints And Muscles A Withdrawal Symptom Of Prednisone?
Hello. I was on prednisone for Crohn s disease for a few years. The colon was removed one year ago and I tapered off prednisone. However, I now have very bad joint and muscle pains. If I take a small dose of prednisone I feel better. Is this a result of long term use of prednisone and is it likely to be permanent?
It is not related to steroid withdrawal. As a first line management you can take analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol for pain relief. f symptoms persist you can consult an orthopedician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
