Is Severe Pain In Midsection Normal Post Surgery On L5S1 Bulged Disc?
My husband had L5S1 surgery bulged disc on nov 19 2015 and he is 29 yrs old. He has had numbness around midsection (butt region), right leg from knee down, left foot since surgery and now starting left leg. His feet are cold and he gets cold easily. Since his surgery on L5S1 partial discs removal, he has been in severe pain since he woke up from surgery. Does this sound normal? And mind you he is ex military and does have high pain tolerance.
It is possible that there may be some nerve damage or trauma to surrounding nerves from the surgery.
Nerve damage would cause the numbness, cold sensation and pain.
Nerve damage may be minor or severe , it is possible that , if it is minor, the nerves may repair themselves, this can take weeks to months in some cases. He should be assessed by his neurosurgeon.
I hope this helps
