Is Severe Phlegmy Cough A Symptom Of Pneumonia?

I had a Fundoplication operation in 1993 . I have been really well until the last couple of years and especially now with a phlegmy cough and much phlegm in the throat....don t appear to have reflux but the cough sounds like Neumonia which it isn t ......could it be what it called silent reflux and if so what can be done. Hi,

In pneumonia, cough with phlegm is associated with fever with chills, pain in any part of chest and difficulty in breathing. You do not mention any of these. It can also be any type of severe lung infection, severe allergy with post nasal drip or tonsillitis. Expert advice of an ENT specialist would be helpful.
