Is Severe Swelling In The Leg And Fever Signs Of Phlebitis?

There is a possibility that I have Phlebitis. My doctor has me on water pills, and possium pills. My left leg from the knee to the ankle has been swollen so bad that it actually had fever in it. This is a first for me. They have done several blood test and also had a soma gram on the main artery, and it showed no blood clot. Now, they are talking about going into the vein behind my knee and putting the dye into it to see how the veins are. I did have a fall a couple of months ago and fell on both knees. Never had the swelling that I have now. I am also wearing those tight socks. Does this sound right to you?
