Is Sharp Pain Around The Breast And Close To The Armpit A Matter Of Concern?

I have a sharp pain on the outside area of my breast, more closer to my armpit. No lump or unusual change other than the pain that comes and goes, moving like a quick, intense pain from the side to the nipple. Age: 61. No hx of breast cancer. Is this something to be alarmed about?

Hello,

Such non specific pain is common among post menopausal individuals and is due to hormonal changes takes place in your body. However, considering your age, it is better to take a mammogram to rule out any lump or swelling which may not be palpable in the initial stage. As of now you can take analgesics like Mefenemic acid for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
