Is Sharp, Tight Pain At The Base Of Throat When Breathing Heavily Be Normal Muscle Spasm?

When I breathe too heavily or laugh too hard, I get a sharp tight pain for about 3-5 seconds in the base of my throat that spans up on occasion. It goes very quick, but it s happened a couple of times in the past week. Is this a normal muscle spasm? My heart is in good condition, beating normally at about 70-80 beats per minute, and my blood pressure is normal. But I do get stressed alot and anxious.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

With this condition, when you feel sharp tight pain in the base of the neck on stressed breathing - cardiac condition cannot be ruled out. I suggest a complete cardiac check up with stress echo. Do visit a cardiologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks

Regards,
