My mother (65 Yrs) has a frozen right shoulder due to arthritis. According to our doctor it has deteriorated to a greater extent. The only possible solution is shoulder replacement in long run. At present they are suggestive of inducing steroids in her shoulder. Please enlighten us on how safe is shoulder replacement, Its pros and cons. What are the side effects of inducing steroids?
Hello The steroid injections are safe unless she has diabetes since they can elevate blood sugar levels
As for the shoulder replacement, these work well in giving greater range of motion to the joint and the ability to use the arm. As with any surgery the risks are infection and complications from anesthesia
