Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Ive been taking birth control over a year now and was wondering if it is possible to stop a pack mid week to get a period early? Example: Take a whole pack of hormone pills (21 days), skip the period week and start a new pack and take an additional week or 2 of pills, and then go to the off week to start period, have the period, and then start back up and take the remaining week of pills from the pack and then immediately start a new pack of pills. I m trying to have my period every 6 weeks or so. Is there any risk of pregnancy since I ll have over 21 active day pills consecutively?
There are some birth control medications that can be taken consecutively and this would delay the period but it would depend on which pill you are currently using. You can ask your doctor if the pill that you are currently using is one that can be used in this way.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
