Is Sleep Apnoea An Immediate ER Condition ?

My 88 year old father is having low blood pressure 90/50. His medication was changed from ditazem to verapamil about two to three weeks ago. He seems more confused and is sleeping alot. This morning when I went to his room to wake him up, he was not breathing and all at once caught his breath, did that several times. Put me in mind of sleep apenia. Do I need to take him to the ER or wait until his drs office opens on Monday or Tuesday. He also takes high blood pressure medicine. Thanks for your help.
