Is Sleepwalking Of A 13-year-old Boy A Cause For Concern?

My 13-year-old, who is a healthy boy with no physical issues and living with 2 parents and an older brother in a family with no overriding dysfunctional issues, has had 2 episodes of sleepwalking in the last month. Both occurred in the first couple of hours after he went to sleep. In each case, I just walked him back to bed and tucked him in without incident. Should I be worried. He never did this when he was little.

Hi,

Sleep walking is not very rare and most of the times it doesn't indicate any serious disease rather an abnormality of sleep. It by itself may not be alarming, however night walk may be dangerous and may cause accidents during a sleep walk. There are drugs that may work for it. So talk to your doctor on this matter.

Hope I have answered your query.
