Is Slight Pinkish Brown Menstrual Bleeding A Sign Of Pregnancy?

I had my tubes tied after my 2nd child. My periods have been regular, give or take a day or two. My period was late and I started spotting 2 days ago. It is very light, pink/brownish in color. It isnt in my underwear its only there when I wipe. Ive had no cramps, which are usually pretty bad. Could I be pregnant??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

Pregnancy should be unlikely due to the fact that you had a tubectomy, but the fact that you must be around 40 years of age, coupled with the fact that you have had your tubes tied could be the cause for a hormonal fluctuation, along with other causes you may not have mentioned in your query. A hormonal fluctuation could be the cause for the presentation, and if at all you are under stress, taking medications, have any ongoing infections, etc; could be reason enough for the presentation you are experiencing, so please speak to a doctor for further management and guidance.

Best wishes.
