Is Smoking Advisable While Treating Typhoid?

Hello doctor! I have been diagnosed Typhoid last Monday and i have been go through a course of medicine from last 5 days I just discharged from hospital today. My question is can i smoke now ? Still doctor said that i have to be on liquid for some 3-4 days

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Although you are discharged after being treated for typhoid, there will be chances of its relapse if certain precautions are not taken.
You need to continue to be on bland diet for 3 weeks and gradually change to normal diet.
Likewise, you need to abstain from smoking and alcohol consumption, if you are habituated to, for this period, to be on the safer side.
Hence, do not smoke for 3 to 4 weeks, as if typhoid relapses, it can land up in dreadful complications.
Kindly take the medications as advised and do necessary follow-up as suggested.
