Hi, I ve had chicken pox before and I ve also had the vaccine. I shared a bag of food with someone who later got chicken pox who also had a sore throat and I got one while I woke up in bed. Is it likely that these are early symptoms of chicken pox or is it because I unwrapped myself and my family have sore throats too?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sore throat along with chicken pox, well chickenpox is a viral infection and it starts with fever and rashes on body. It could be possible you have poor immune system which is making you susceptible for coinfection.
Need not to worry. As chickenpox is a viral manifestation, there is no need of special treatment, it will resolve its own in few days. You should take proper course of oral antibiotics along with vitamin C as it will resolve symptoms of sore throat.
You should take plenty of fluids to maintain hydration. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit general physician once and start treatment accordingly. Avoid touching or pricking rashes on body.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
