Is Sore Throat With Yellow Mucus And Blood Normal After Septoplasty?
I had septoplasty 6 days ago I have a sore throat still and have to clear my throat all the time of yellow mucus and blood is this normal and will it go away I had the surgery to try to stop post nasal and breathe better my throat always feels full I don t know thank you
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of septoplasty done to stop postnasal drip and breathe better as the throat always felt full. The problem after septoplasty done 6 days ago is that you have yellow mucus with blood; this is not normal at all and indicates that you have an infection and need a course of an antibiotic and supportive medicines like an anti-inflammatory and decongestants. Local nasal cleaning with sodabicarb and normal saline may also help to clear the problem you have. Do not worry, this will get cured.
