Is Spastic Colon, Related With Stomach Pain?

Hi, I've had stomach pain since this morning around 9AM. About 2-3 inches to the left of the belly button and down about an inch. 2 bowel movements, neither particularly hard or soft. No real cramping but general tightness in the area. One Dr told me 7 yrs ago I have a spastic colon but he wasn't overly concerned about it. Could it be the spastic just won't relax? Would a heating pad help? Ate breakfast and lunch today.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The given history of pain at the left lower abdomen may not be due to spastic colon but it seems to be due to colicky abdomen pain and renal colic needs to be ruled out.

Possibility of renal stone is likely. In female patient, it could be due to gynecological changes, you have not given any information about age and gender.

Instead of using heating pad, I would advise you to try tablet Dicyclomine with Acetaminophen as per the need.

If the pain remains as it is or comes back then imaging study is must like x-ray abdomen and ultrasonography.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
