hi im taking althea pills for 5months now and i take them regularly without skipping them..last sept.20 i had my first day of menstruation during my 7 pill free day and it ends in sept.24..but now im having spotting and i get nervous im sure im not pregnant..pls help me is this a side effect of the pill? thank you! rhin
If you are taking regularly, the chance of getting pregnant is very remote. Don't worry of symptoms like spotting or abdominal pain and bloating, as such symptoms could happen intermittently while you are taking these pills, particularly during first 6 months. Just continue taking the pills regularly.
In case such symptoms become more frequent and bothersome, you may need to go for change in the mode of contraception on consulting with your doctor.
Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.

Is Spotting A Side Effect Of Althea?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Althea is 21 days contraceptive pill with a 7 days tablet free period. If you are taking regularly, the chance of getting pregnant is very remote. Don t worry of symptoms like spotting or abdominal pain and bloating, as such symptoms could happen intermittently while you are taking these pills, particularly during first 6 months. Just continue taking the pills regularly. In case such symptoms become more frequent and bothersome, you may need to go for change in the mode of contraception on consulting with your doctor.
