Is Spotting And Flu During 8 Weeks Of Pregnancy Harmful?

I am 8wks plus 6 days preg. I had healthy dating ultrasound 7wks5days with good yolk sac and heart beat. Have had the flu. Spotting over weekend. Mild abdo cramping today. Presented for examination - gp ultrasound shows healthy heartbeat. Can flu - increasing intrabdominal pressure from blowing nose, coughing, sneezing etc produce bleeding and cramping? What is percentage risk rate at this stage of pregnancy for 29 yo very healthy female pregnant with 2nd child to have miscarriage with this presentation?

Hi,

Once fetal heart is seen ,there is a less than 5% chance of having a miscarriage .So please relax. No need to get worried.
Get treatment for you cold and get a ultrasound repeated at 11 weeks for viability ,nuchal fold and to calculate Date of delivery.
Coughing and sneezing is very unlikely to cause a miscarriage.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
