Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Spotting In Between Periods Caused By Conception?
My period is always between 28 to 35 days not on any contraception and had my period on the 26th January to the 30 th January as a normal one. Then after intercourse on the 9th February I went to the toilet to find light pink blood yesterday and today just brown when I wipe hardly any. Could this be conception or just a slight bleed between periods. My period before January was 23 December to the 27 December. Please help me cause if it s thought to be a conception I need to know what to do and when to test to find out and how far would I be pregnant as I m 50 years old. Thank you for your time Andrea.
Spotting between cycles is not uncommon and is not a sign of pregnancy. If you do not get your menses as usual (one month mostly)and are late by a week and you are sexually active then we advise doing a pregnancy test.
Though chances of pregnancy decrease with age, one can definitely get pregnancy at 50 years.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
