Is Stage 4 Of Heart Failure Treatable?

my brother in law has had 1 massive and 3 other heart attacks, he has had a pace maker put in and has been building fluid, dr. has said less than 30% of his heart is working they say he is in stage 4 of heart failure, how long do you think he has to live with this condition, or is it treatable

Hi,

This depends on the status of myocardium. If this heart failure followed a recent heart attack, we can expect some recovery.

But if it was there for few months now, spontaneous recovery is unlikely and transplantation may be the only option for definitive cure.

But there are some drugs which may help in further worsening of the condition, which your cardiologist will discuss in details.
