Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently donated blood, which I do as frequently as I can due to have O- blood, and today received a letter from the blood bank saying they found Staphylococcus Hominis bacteria, and have advised me to go to my doctor (which I can t do for a couple of days). I m really freaking out, I can t seem to find much information online about it which I can understand - it s a lot of medical language. Basically - what is it? Is it contagious for my partner to get if he touches my skin? How is it treated?
hi..staphylococcus hominis is not contageous .. dont worry it can not spread to your partner by skin touch.. antibiotics like vancomycin , amikacin are good for such bacterial infection.. so take anribiotic under doctors advice.. take care
