Is Staphylococcus Infection A Sexualy Transmitted Disease?
Hi, is staphylococcus a sexualy transmitted disease? I had unprotected sex 1996 six days later I experienced discharge from my penis after urine. I ran STD test and the doctor recommended treatment for staph which I did. But till now I still have the problem. Worst of all I don t get erection again and no sexual urge and I have splitting urine. What is the remedy?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Staphylococcus infection is not a sexually transmissible infection. However, you can have what is generally called staphylococcal urethritis. In this case, a urethral swap smear and urinalysis/urine culture may help to know which antibiotic will treat the condition. I will advise you see a urologist for evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
