Hello,
You are sleeping on your stomach often. It causes you stinging pain. Ideally you should avoid sleeping on your stomach, it is not good. It strains your back, neck and spine. That can lead to poor sleep and discomfort throughout your day. Stress on the spine increases stress on other parts of the body and may cause pain,
tingling and
numbness, discomfort, etc. You may develop neck problems like a
herniated disk in long run. Avoid sleeping on your stomach.
Stinging pain may be indicative of sprain or strain in the muscles,
appendicitis, developing gall stone, IBS, ovarian cysts, UTI,
peptic ulcer, etc. Stinging pain should disappear once you stop sleeping on stomach, if not get clinically examined by a GP. Get blood work out, tests and required investigations done. You will be treated accordingly. Stay away from addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
