General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there,
Your sister's weight loss is concerning but it is usual to lose weight like this after a surgery. Your general practitioner would not dismiss if the matter looked serious. However rather than having doubts why dont you take her to the surgeon who operated on her. The surgeon can also check if she was doing fine with the surgical would and also suggest if any imaging is required to find the cause of weight loss. Try to give her lots of liquids if she is vomiting or having loose motions. It may take some time for her to regain her lost weight.
High protein diet is recommended in this recovery phase.
Do not panic.
Take care.
