Is Sugar Level Of 320 Before Breakfast And 380 After Breakfast Controllable?
Hi,Last week my father has been taken blood test.In that report they have mentioned in report sugar level is 320 before taken breakfast and after taking breakfast his sugar level is 380.Kindly let me know it s possible to control the sugar level. It s type 1 or Type2 ?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern... No sugar level of 320 before breakfast and 380 after breakfast is controllable without use of hypoglycemic drugs or insulin. This blood glucose levels are dangerous & your husband may have complications like diabetes ketoacidosis or hypoosmolar coma if these sugar levels are not controlled. These both complication can be life threatening as well. If your father have never taken insulin in his lifetime this diabetes should be type 2 diabetes or non-insulin depended diabetes mellitus. First of all oral hypoglycemic drugs would be given to him. If still sugar levels remains high some insulin would be prescribed to him.
Refer to a physician Hope this information helps
