Is Supplementing Breastfeeding With Formula Milk Advisable For Infants?
Hi I am breastfeeding to my 5 months old son. Everything is perfect and alright. But I have to go for vacation for 1 week. I can t feed him outside. What to do? Is formula is the really option or anything else? I am not feeling like to give him formula.
Up to six months only breast milk is required, provided breast milk should be in adequate quantity.
If you can not feed him for one week, formula feeds can be tried. You can try brands like similac or nanpro which is prescribed by most of the paediatricians and are well tolerated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
