Is Surgery Advisable For A 2 Cm Cyst In The Uterus?
Dear Doctor i am 37yrs old and have already removed uterus. recently i visited a doctor and he said that i have a cyst of 2cm in my right ovary. i have no pain and i live well. i am very worried and do want to go for a surgery. what can i do? do you have a solution for me?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. Cyst of 2 cm on the ovary does not necessitate removal immediately. You can wait for some more time and do a regular follow-up as to know its status by means of ultrasound scan. In case the cyst is growing bigger, it needs to be ascertained as to its nature by undergoing an Ultrasound guided biopsy. Based on the findings from histopathology report and the clinical symptoms, appropriate decision can be taken for its surgical removal. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
