I am very active, 59 yr old female, who had knee injury over a year ago (fell in sink hole). Always had slight arthritis in both knees. Knee MRI showed inflammation, possible small tear of meniscus, and moderate arthritis due to injury. Although better than a year ago, I still have achiness/stiffness and pain off and on so getting second MRI next week to compare. If MRI still shows possible small tear meniscus should I get surgery? I was told the arthritis would still be there, but would I feel any relief from repairing the tear? FYI, the past 6 mos, I have gone through 3 mos Px therapy, orthovisc shots 3 weeks, and Aleve off and on - - but nothing helped. Six mos ago tried PRP shot, which helped the most with more movement in the knee and able to walk treadmill without pain.
