Is Surgery For Removal Of Tumor In Upper Left Lung Serious?

MY FATHER HAD PET SCAN AND THEY found tumor in upper left lung with SUV10 in max....they said should be removed 1.5 cm size .....hes 74 yrs and cardolgic patient...does the opration risky for him...and 2008 had colon cancer and did opration no chemo...and in 2009 dignsoed NPC nasphorganl carcinoma and took radition and chemotherboy.

Thanks for your question on HCM. Lung surgeries are always life threatening and demands great post operative care. Since your father is cardiac patient and had two three malignancies in past, I would suggest you to discuss in depth about few things.
1. Will surgery give him symptomatic benefit.
2. Will the risk of life during operation worth taking over present health.
3. Will this surgery helpful in increasing his life span.
4. Consult cardiac anaesthetics for pre operative , intra operative and post operative care.
5. Refer another oncologist for surgery vs chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
