Is Surgery Necessary For Enlarged Thyroid?

The FNAC Report says that Left Lobe of thyroid Enlarged and measures 34 x 28 x 21 mm, and the possibility of papillary thyroid carcinoma can not be ruled out.
is it neccesory to undergo surgeory, and how serious is this?

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

You have enlarged left lobe of thyroid. Your FNAC report is not clear that there is no evidence of malignancy. There is a possibility of papillary carcinoma of thyroid. So in this cases either second opinion should be taken for FNAC and if required go for repeat FNAC to clear the diagnosis. Then if required surgery should be done. It is very common cancer in thyroid with better prognosis. So even if it is cancer there is no need of big worry. Just be relaxed.
