Is Surgery Necessary When Diagnosed With Chronic Back Pain?

I have a significant lower back history. I am a paramedic and lift heavy pts often. I had L4-L5 lamenectomy in 2009 and a microdiscectomy in 2012. Now, after lifting a 400lb pt i experienced a sudden onset of severe low back pain with pain radiating down to the back of my rt knee ( previous surgery involved left side ). I also get instant numbness when i sit. I had a CT done which read: L4-L5 spondylosis with moderate L4-L5 and mild L5-S1 central canal narrowing. Asymmetric moderate right L5-S1 neural foraminal narrowing. Also states encroachment on the venteal thecal sac at L5-S1 level. Am I in for another surgery?

It is not always necessary to go for surgery. You can take pain killer like akilos-p or biozobid-plus only when the pain is worse enough or disturb your daily routine along with some calcium supplements like shalcal-d or toscal-gem once daily. I will also advice you to sleep on plain surface. Do some physiotherapy exercises after an expert opinion of physiotherapist.
