Is Surgery Needed For Moderately Severe Mixed Hearing Loss In One Ear?

Dear Doctor,
I am a 35-year-old woman having hearing loss in left ear. Has been having difficulty hearing for the past 4 years, since delivery of twins. I doubt this happened after I accidentally injured my ear with buds in an attempt to remove wax.
My audiology report dated 9.10.2009 reads
Right: 15 dB
Left: 61.6 dB
Test Condition: Satisfactory
Audiological Interpretation
Right: Hearing sensitivity within normal limits.
Left: Moderately severe mixed hearing loss. Recommendation: ENT consultation and Follow up. Our doctor advised for immediate surgery to retain the hearing loss. Kindly let me have your valuable suggestions in this regard and to proceed further. We stay in Palakkad, (Pollachi and Coimbatore are 1 hr journey from here). If surgery is necessary, could you please also suggest any specialist known to you in these localities?

Thank you
