Spine Surgeon 's  Response
Spine surgeries are usually elective and quality of life surgeries. If your surgeon feels that your problem is correctable surgically and you feel that it is enough of suffering to bear, than it is the time to get operated. Certainly all non operative measures should be tried before that. Is the problem curable can be decided only upon examining the patient and her investigations and imaging which I am sure must have been done by your doctor who recommended surgery. Not all cases need surgery though.
