Is Surgery Required If Contusion Is Present In Parital And Frontal Lobe?
hello , my uncle 62yr male met with an accident (RTA) 2 days before.following which he got unconcious. on ct scan repot he has contusion in parital & frontal lobe. locol doctor adviced for surgery. wil u help me for proper managment of case. can it will be managed conservatively
I can understand your concern. The Contusion in frontal and parietal can require surgery if : Large size contusion whose volume is more than 30 ml : Midline shift of 5mm or more than that : Patient consciousness is decreasing in front of you : Bleed size has increased in size. : If patient Glasgow Coma Scale score falls 2 or more points after admission.
Decision regarding surgery is decided after CT report, patient's general condition and doctor's observation. You can discuss it with doctor. If still in doubt, you can provide detailed CT report by asking another question.
Hope it will help you. Thanks. take care
