Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Surgery The Only Remedy For Osteoporosis Of The Knee?
I was told that I have Ostoperious of the Knee and would eventually need knee surgery. I don t want surgery right now but was put on Naproxen to try for a month or so to see if it helps. Is there anything else I can do to help my condition besides taking this medication and watching my weight.
Hello, The description doesn't mention the actual diagnosis. The specific indication for which knee surgery will be performed is not mentioned. In the absence of these description, I can give you a generic advice. As indicated by the doctor, you can prolong the decision for knee surgery. Medications, weight loss and physiotherpay may help you in symptoms but highly unlikely to reverse the disease process. It can only at the most halt the process. You can discuss the above points with your care giver. I hope the above information helps you. Thank you for writing into healthcaremagic.
