Is Surgery The Right Treatment For Squint Eye In A Child?

My daughter is 2.5 years old and having a squint in left eye (inwards). It is maternal heredity. I had shown her to a specialist and he started the treatement - atrophine sulphate for dilation (3 days), check-up, use of occular patches on right eye along with the spectacles, later increased the spectacle number (spherical and cylindrical)..he said that it seems that he had to proceed with surgery. Please advise whether 1) surgery is right option at this age? 2) can you advise some specialist near Navi Mumbai / Mumbai / Thane in India? 3) what shall be course of action in future for me? Expect urgent replies. PLEASE HELP!!!!
