Is Surgery The Right Treatment For Uterine Fibroids?
Hello, my wife has very large fibriods in her uterus, as detected by ultrasound images. She gets heavy bleeding during period and abdomen pain. A gynaecologist advised her to have a surgery asap to remove those fibriods, and also said in future to concieve she will need to undergo cesarean procedure. My question is if surgery is the right thing to do and are there any other ways to treat fibriods?
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
Sometimes, small fibroids may be treated with hormonal medications but in ost cases only the surgery is efficient so I recommend this too since it is safe and simple procedure today which can be done laparoscopically as well and recovery is very quick. I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
