Is Swelling In The Feet And Legs A Side Effect Of Lyrica?

My feet & legs are extremely swollen much of the time sinc e I started taking LYRICA for neuropathy. I started on 20mg & am now taking 100mg 3 times a day. The swelling may go down for a few days but always comes back. I also have excruciating pain in my hips & find it very difficult to walk. I also cannot sleep on my sides anymore because of the hip pain. Should I stop taking my medication?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You are very right , oedema is a side effect of lyrica and your one can well be because of the drug , so stopping the drug would be an option if its troublesome , however we must not forget other causes of edema , what i would advise you should talk to your doctor in this regard,he would make an assessment and if there is no other cause of your problem other then the drug ,you may discuss with him stopping this drug , and finding an alternative.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
