Is Swelling Of Ankles And Legs A Symptom Of Heart Disease?
As a 74 year old woman, sometimes I notice after sitting 5 or more hours, that my ankles and legs seem a bit swollen ( for example about an inch larger in circumference as compared to early in morning). Does this indicate heart disease? Thanks, YYYY@YYYY
Ankle and leg swelling may related to heart problems. Insufficient venous return cause ankle and leg swelling. Right sided heart failure cause ankle swelling.
In liver or kidney disease may cause ankle swelling. Lymphedema may ruled out.
