Is Swelling On The Arm Due To The Implanted Metal Plate?
Hi. I was in a severe car accident about a year and a half ago. I broke everything but my back and left leg. I had surgery on both arms. Fractured ulna and radius in both arms and humerus in right arm. On my left arm I have a plate. I did have a rod but it was removed about 5 months ago. Today I noticed a my lower forearm was swollen I ran my fingers across it and it feel more like a lump. It feels as though it s in the same place the plate is. What could this be ?
Hello, It could be that the plate has shifted or it could be that scar tissue has formed around the plate. Have your orthopedist check it to be sure. Regards
