Is Swelling, Redness And Discomfort In Eye Due To Splashing Hot Soup Concerning?

Hi,
While cooking yesterday, a splash of hot soup hit my eye. I put a cold compress on it and took Advil. Today I notice a little swelling, redness and some pain discomfort. Wondering if there is anything else I can do or need to watch for?

Thank you,
Ginny

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about eye injury with hot soup. In a majority of persons, it would heal completely without any complication. It would be nice to keep it protected fro the environment with sun glasses. Also, take pain medication like Ibuprofen and Paracetamol. Eye drops to irrigate the eyes would be helpful to clean away secretions and prevent infections.

I hope this addresses your query fully. If you have more related questions, feel free to ask me and I will gladly address them. I wish you the bes of health and thank you so much for using our services.
