My new drug plan has substituted mesalamine dr tab 800mg dr...Am I at any risk making this switch?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

They are both used in Crohn's disease. The main thing is that the effect of either of them is highly variable and unpredictable. Basically, they have to be tried to see if they work. Toxicity isn't that big in either.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Matt Wachsman
