Is Switching From Gabapentin To Lyrica A Safe Option?

My neurologist wants me to switch from gabapentin to Lyrica for non diabetic nerve burning pain. He gave me 2 weeks supply of Lyrica but I read it takes longer than that to help with pain. I m concerned about side effects particularky because I m a private tutor and have to be able to think clearly. Gabapentin doesn t seem to help burning at all, but will Lyrica be worth the side effects in your opinion?
