Is Switching From Nisoldipine To Amlodipine Advisable?
My RX insurance provider wants me to switch from Nisoldipine ER 8.5 MG Tab (Sular generic) to either Amlodipine or Felodipine ER for blood pressure control. Currently, I take a combination of three drugs: Nisoldipine, Bisoprolol fumarte 5 MG and Hydrochlorothzide 12.5 MG to prevent wild fluctuations in my BP. After several months of titration, we found that these three drugs work perfectly for me as I suffer from a defect in my autonomic system. This drug combination has worked perfectly for me for more than 9 years and I hesitate to switch to another drug. Any suggestions

Is Switching From Nisoldipine To Amlodipine Advisable?
Hello, It is better not to switch as your present regimen has good hypertension control. However, you can safely switch to Amlodipine from Nisoldipine as both of them belongs to the same group. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
