Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain if you have got swelling after the
root canal treatment then it is not a normal finding..
It is an indication that there is infection in root canal treated tooth and there can be recurrence of pus formation below the root tips of the tooth leading to swelling..
It needs to be addressed to your treating physician an you should consult your
dentist and get evaluated and he/she can also take an
x ray for confirming the exact reason for swelling..
In case if there is infection and pus formation re-cleaning of the root canals will be done followed by placement of anti bacterial dressing..
You will be asked to continue antibiotics and painkillers and along with it do cool compresses over the cheek..
You should get the final filling done only after the swelling, pain completely subsides..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
