Is Swollen Face With History Of Pre-eclampsia A Cause For Concern?
I,m 39 weeks pregnant tomorrow and have woken up with a puffy face. This is my second child, with my first I had Pre-eclampsia with swollen hands, face and hands. But this time its just face. I had my BP taken and urine on friday just gone and it was fine. Should I be worried?
Hello, Welcome to HCM and thanks for asking your question. I appreciate your concern. I would like to tell you that as you had a history of preeclampsia, you need to be more cautious this time. Also 39 weeks have already passed, anytime you will get relieved, but you need to do regular follow up with your doctor(every 3 days), daily check your BP and urine examination has to be done weekly. Chances of preeclampsia are more because you had already a history of that. Also want to tell you that chances of LSCS are more rather than normal. Infact if i were your doctor, i would not even wait for starting labour pain and do elective LSCS to avoid many complications. You need to be relaxed, but at the same time cautious also. Hope this will help you and best wishes from my side for your pregnancy.
