Is Swollen Lymph Node From Genital Herpes Contagious?

Hi. I developed a swollen lymph node from a genital herpes outbreak. All symptoms are gone except for one small lymph node. It has been present for 3 weeks now and is getting smaller everyday. If my partner doesnt have genital herpes should I continue to refrain from sex? Is the lymh node contagious?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain Swollen lymph nodes due to genital herpes that is a viral infection and that are regressing daily is a good sign and in case if you do not have a breakout then there are very less chances that the infection can be transmitted to your husband..
The lymph nodes although takes a longer time to resolve even after the resolution of infection, therefore you need not to worry as they are already regressing as well as you do not have a breakout..
Chances of infection are nominal..
But still to be on a safer side I would suggest you to do intercourse by taking proper barrier protection that is by using a condom..
You should also consult an Infectious Medicine Specialist and get evaluated and you should take a long course of antiviral oral medications like Acyclovir, Valacyclovir etc to reduce the frequency of outbreak of sores..
