Is Taking Acetaminophen Advisable After Having A Tooth Extraction?

How long after a tooth extraction should i wait to smoke hookah apposed to cigarettes. My other question is should I stop taking Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen pain relievers since it is a blood thinner and could slow my clotting process. i had my surgery at 3pm to remove both bottom row bite-wings and it has been 3 days since then. I don't feel pain just slight swelling and inflammation.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that it is about 3 days since you have got the tooth extracted and you should not smoke for atleast ten days as Smoking even hookah can cause delayed healing..

Along with it it can also increase inflammation in the extraction area leading to pain and swelling..

Secondly if there is no pain you can stop taking painkillers..

But one information I would like to tell you that Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen combination is not a blood thinner and will not reduce your clot formation capacity..

You can do cool compresses over the swollen cheek and can take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen as it will reduce inflammation and swelling..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
