Is Taking Adderall With Wellbutrin Advisable To Improve Focus And Concentration?

Hi, I have been on Wellbutrin for a few years hoping it would help with focus and concentration , and it hasn t . I used to take Adderall when I was younger , and it helped a lot . Do you think Adderall would help in combination with the Wellbutrin ?

Hi,

It is not advisable to take Adderall while on Wellbutrin. If taken together, these medications can increase the risk of seizures, which may occur rarely with either medication. In addition, Wellbutrin can increase the blood levels of Adderall, thus increasing its side effects like anxiety, agitation, nervousness, dizziness, increased heart beats, palpitations, and increased blood pressure. I advise you to consult your treating doctor for effective alternative for your problem or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications.
